About this game
Core Gameplay Loop
Hue Runner: Color Merge Chase places you in control of a single blob that rolls forward along a winding path. The track is populated with other blobs in various colors. Touching a blob that shares your current hue adds it to your group, increasing your score and team size. Contact with a different-colored blob causes both sides to lose members, shrinking your group. This simple risk-reward system forces quick decisions as you approach each cluster.
Obstacle Navigation & Color Shifts
The path includes barriers that reduce your group size on contact, so steering around them is essential. Periodic color changers appear, letting you switch your blob's hue. This allows you to then collect blobs of that new color, opening up strategic opportunities. You must anticipate upcoming color changers and plan your route to maximize growth while avoiding hazards.
Level Structure & Variety
Each level presents a fresh layout with different obstacle arrangements and color changer placements. The difficulty ramps up gradually, introducing tighter spaces and more complex color patterns. The environment remains bright and cheerful, with smooth 3D animations that keep the experience engaging without being overwhelming.
End-of-Level Cannon Challenge
At the conclusion of each stage, you use a cannon to launch your collected blobs at yellow targets on a large object. Accuracy and team size matter here. If your group is too small, you may not have enough blobs to hit all targets, forcing a restart. This segment adds a precision-based twist to the running genre, rewarding careful play throughout the level.
Visual & Audio Design
The game uses vibrant, saturated colors and clean 3D graphics that are easy on the eyes. Animations are fluid, and the interface is minimal, keeping the focus on the action. Sound effects provide gentle feedback for collecting blobs, hitting obstacles, and launching from the cannon, enhancing the overall feel without being intrusive.
